Dave founded Oak Design and Construction in 1979 doing carpentry and small home repair projects. In 1997 He was honored as one of the top 50 remodelers in the nation by Remodeling Magazine. Dave is a NARI Certified Remodeler, a NAHB certified Green Professional (CGP), Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) and a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) . He serves as a board member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicagoland. His small carpentry business quickly blossomed into a full service design/build remodeling company. Dave has spent most of his life in Oak Park and is a graduate of Oak Park and River Forest High School. He has been married for over 30 years to his wife Starr and has two grown children, Maxwell and Allison.
As a south side Chicagoan, Tom went to catholic college prep schools growing up. He did his share of time in detention as he was often caught with the latest issue of Fine Home Building magazine hidden in between the pages of his school books during class. After pursuing a degree in forestry Tom could not escape the desire to build and create. While working as a cabinet maker he began to build a clientele and founded his own company in 1991. Tom is also a Certified LEAD Remodeler (CLR).
After many years of collaboration with Oak Design and Construction Tom joined Oak as a remodeling consultant and looks forward to bringing his years of experience in the industry to serve Oak Design and Construction and their clientele.
Tom lives in Indian Head Park and is the proud father of three children.
Being exposed to the diverse art disciplines at Columbia College Chicago, Rachel has been able to explore and develop her creative approach in the marketplace. With her BA in Photography she came right out of school working for several years as a commercial photographer, where she discovered an interest in design and marketing. She joined Oak in 2009 after being their gallery photographer for large projects. Her creative ideas and enthusiasm make her a great Marketing Director. Born and raised in a small farming community in southeast Iowa, she and her husband Dan now call Chicago home along with their daughter Ellie, born in 2014.
Jr has been in the construction field since 2000. His variety of carpentry skills makes him a great asset to our team. Jr now calls Chicago home after moving from California at the age of 16, where he was raised. He and his wife Noemi have two children, Khloe and Marcelino.
Jim has served as Oak’s office manager since 1995. His experience makes him a highly efficient and effective administrator. Jim is skilled with computers and provides technical support for the company as well as handling the administration.
Prior to Oak he worked as a vascular technologist at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, IL and as a wait staff manager for Clubs Corporation of America.
Bogdan is Oak’s resident artist. As manager of Oak’s custom millwork shop, he uses his keen eye and creativity in cabinet and furniture making. Before joining Oak in 2000, Bogdan spent 15 years installing and repairing WoodMode Cabinets, a high-end cabinet line. He is a restoration specialist, salvaging everything from doors to furniture.
Bogdan grew up in Poland, where he attended the Art Institute. He continues to draw and paint in his spare time. He resides in Westmont with his wife, Patrycia, and two children, Aleksandra and Peter.
Garth has spent the majority of his years in the construction industry with Oak. His specialties include framing, trim work and cabinet installation. Garth has worked on every type of project from small powder rooms to large second floor additions. His skill and knowledge set high standards of craftsmanship and are used to train upcoming carpenters. Garth lives in Carol Stream with his wife and two sons.
